Mahjong TIme’s Guild Update is nearing its final stages of development, and it will be available in October! The Guild play system at Mahjong Time is receiving a major rework focused on making guild play more fun and competitive, while maintaining the integrity of the guilds feature. The changes to the guild play system will be as follows:
Guild play will be available in EON only - EON is now the definitive version of Mahjong Time, and update support for the older versions has ceased. To learn learn more about EON and make the switch, click here
Smaller guilds - Guilds will now be limited to 6 players only. This is occurring for two reasons. At their best, guilds are smaller, close-knit groups of players who represent their guild in the games they play. Large guilds lose this sense of closeness, with multiple players from the same guild competing at a single table. The existing guild system dilutes the guilds’ identities, which will hopefully be regained with this change.
European Classical style will no longer have guilds - This style does not have enough guild competition, and we would like to focus our efforts on the other styles. Styles that will have guild competition: Hong Kong, NMJL, MCR, Riichi, Taiwanese
A different prize for each style - We are very excited to be able to offer different prizes for each style to give guild play variety. Prizes will also rotate style-to-style on a regular basis. Additionally, a new prize distribution system will be in effect, rewarding the best players in the guild the most. The prize distribution for a full guild will be: 6 players: 30:25:20:15:10. (%)
Guild leader bonus - The leader of the week’s winning guild receives Golden Coin or Dragon Chip prizes
Guild Play Time - Guild play limited to 4 hours per day
Prize calculation changed - There are different prizes for each game style that is set up in Admin. Every week the guild that has the biggest Score in concrete style should take that style’s prize. Thereafter prize distribution takes place inside the guild - according to the distribution table contains percentage for each member and its place. If there are less members in a guild than Places in distribution table - the rest percents are distributed evenly for each existing member:
