Profanity Filter and Auto-Ban at Mahjong Time

At Mahjong Time we’re always concerned about the quality of our site, including ensuring that all games are fairly played, enabling all members to have a quality gaming experience and protecting everyone who plays mahjong from unwanted behavior and expressiveness such as harassment and profanity.

We presently employ a profanity filter, which is designed to make sure that players don’t have to be subjected to offensive or suggestive language. This profanity filter is part of our auto-ban system, which is designed to keep unacceptable behavior and language off our site. This feature monitors numerous languages, making sure that our thousands of members across the globe can enjoy mahjong without being hassled or made uncomfortable.

Here’s the way in which the profanity filter functions:
  1. First Offense: this results in a polite request to stop unwarranted behavior.
  2. Second Offense: if there is a second offense, a warning is offered and enforced.
  3. Third Offense: the abuser is banned for three hours.
  4. Fourth Offense: the person using profanity is again banned for three more hours.
  5. Fifth Offense: the player is given a second warning, which means that these infractions are getting serious.
  6. Sixth Offense: the Mahjong Time user is banned for 24 hours.
  7. Seventh Offense: a final warning is given.
  8. Eighth Offense: Expulsion with the member’s account being terminated.
Various members have asked about the filter and auto-ban software and why we enforce these rules? The fact is that some players do abuse and harass other players when using our chat option. It’s rude, distracting and upsetting to members. Mahjong Time is devoted to making sure that every one of our friends is treated with respect and has the opportunity to play without being distracted and hassled by profane and suggestive language.

If you’d like to discuss or comment on the profanity filter and auto-ban feature and share your ideas with us and other Mahjong Time members, them simply go to http://mahjongtime.blogspot.com/ to let us know what you think.

At Mahjong Time, we want our site to be most competitive and respected around. We’re setting the standard for gaming fun every day.

See you at the mahjong table!,
