This month we are spotlighting Nadine König (username: Geparda) from Germany! Nadine is a long-time player, with September marking her 6th year at Mahjong Time. Nadine has played in over 20 European live tournaments, earning 3rd place in the German Mahjong Open 2010 and 3rd in the German Riichi Open in 2009. We got the chance to ask Nadine some questions:
Q: How did you originally discover multiplayer Mahjong?
A: At an exhibition. I played two rounds and then I immediately bought a game. At home I played and learned with friends.
Q: How often do you play online?
A: For time reasons I could not play online for a long time. But now several times a week.
Q: How long have you played at Mahjong Time?
A: Since 2006
Q: What do you like the most about Mahjong Time?
A: I like to play every time, when I want to. In my region at home, we don't have many real players.
Q: Tell us more about yourself! What would other Mahjong Time players be surprised to know about you?
A: I work as a mobility instructor for blind people. I teach them the use of the white cane.
Q: Which style of Mahjong do you like best? Why is this your favorite?
A: I mostly like to play MCR, but also play RCR. But I don't like to play with Jokers, that's no Mahjong for me.
Q: What is better: playing live or playing online?
A: Playing live is much better! But if you don't have players around you….
Q: On the subject of online play, what kind of advice would you give to the online player?
A: I don't like it when people lose a game and leave stupid comments about the system. It's a difference between real playing and online playing. I think, enjoy it and have fun. It's just a game. Enjoy to meet nice people you know and find new people.
