1. Agreement to These Terms

By creating an account, logging in, purchasing a membership, joining a game, using chat, entering a tournament, or using any Mahjong Time service, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and any rules posted for a specific game, tournament, promotion, or feature.

Mahjong Time may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the site, browser client, Lite client, downloadable client, or related services after an update means you accept the updated Terms.

2. Mahjong Time Services

Mahjong Time provides online mahjong games, practice play, multiplayer tables, tournaments, rankings, ratings, belts, chat features, memberships, virtual chips, virtual coins, and related online services.

Some features may be available only to members, may vary by rule set, or may require the browser client, Lite client, downloadable client, or a current app version.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Mahjong Time services. You are responsible for making sure your use of Mahjong Time is allowed by the laws that apply where you live and where you access the service.

Mahjong Time may restrict, suspend, or block access to certain games, tournaments, payments, prizes, or features in any location where access is prohibited, restricted, or not supported.

4. Accounts

Each player may create and use only one personal account unless Mahjong Time gives written permission. You may not sell, transfer, share, or allow another person to use your account.

You are responsible for keeping your login information secure and for all activity that occurs through your account. Mahjong Time will never ask you to share your password with another player.

You agree to provide accurate account, contact, billing, and tax information when requested. Mahjong Time may suspend or close accounts that use false information, offensive player names, duplicate accounts, or misleading identity information.

5. Memberships, Renewal, and Cancellation

Mahjong Time may offer paid memberships, including monthly or yearly plans. If you purchase a recurring membership, you authorize Mahjong Time or its payment provider to charge your selected payment method at the price and renewal period shown at checkout until you cancel.

Automatic renewal terms, including price, billing period, renewal timing, and cancellation instructions, should be shown before purchase. You are responsible for reviewing these terms before completing your order.

You may cancel a recurring membership before the next renewal date to avoid future renewal charges. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not automatically refund prior charges or unused membership time unless required by law or approved by Mahjong Time.

If you purchased through a third-party payment provider, app store, PayPal, or other external billing method, you may need to cancel through that provider’s system.

6. Chips, Coins, Credits, Ratings, and Belts

Mahjong Time may use chips, coins, promotional credits, ratings, belts, points, rewards, or similar items as part of the game experience.

Unless Mahjong Time clearly states that a specific tournament or promotion includes a cash prize, these items are virtual game items only. They are not cash, are not legal tender, are not transferable outside Mahjong Time, and do not create a cash balance owed to the player.

Mahjong Time may adjust, correct, remove, expire, or reverse virtual items, ratings, belts, points, or rewards when needed to correct errors, enforce rules, resolve abuse, or maintain fair play.

7. Tournaments and Posted Rules

Tournament rules, entry requirements, start times, prize structures, scoring rules, timing rules, and eligibility requirements may vary by event and by mahjong rule set. Players are responsible for reviewing the rules shown for each tournament before joining.

Each tournament, promotion, game type, rule set, or event may have its own posted rules. If posted event rules conflict with these Terms, the posted event rules control for that specific event, unless otherwise required by law.

Tournament results are determined by Mahjong Time systems and official tournament rules. Mahjong Time may review, delay, adjust, or void results if there is a technical issue, rules violation, suspected abuse, collusion, cheating, or other unfair activity.

8. Cash-Entry Tournaments and Prize Events

Mahjong Time may offer cash-entry tournaments, cash-prize events, or paid promotional competitions from time to time. These events are skill-based mahjong competitions and are available only where permitted by law and only to players who meet the posted eligibility requirements.

Cash-entry tournaments may not be available in every location or to every account. Eligibility may depend on age, location, account status, identity verification, payment verification, tax information, tournament rules, and other legal or security requirements.

Mahjong Time may restrict, cancel, refuse, suspend, or void entry, results, or prizes if required by law, payment rules, fraud review, technical issues, suspected abuse, collusion, cheating, account sharing, duplicate accounts, or violation of these Terms or posted tournament rules.

Cash prizes, when offered, are awarded only according to the official rules posted for that tournament or promotion. Players are responsible for all taxes related to prizes. Mahjong Time may request tax forms, identity information, or payment information and may issue tax forms when required by law.

9. Technical Issues, Disconnects, and Game Errors

Online play depends on internet connections, devices, browsers, app versions, servers, and third-party services. Mahjong Time is not responsible for player-side connection issues, device problems, browser problems, power outages, or other issues outside Mahjong Time’s control.

If Mahjong Time determines that a service issue, software error, tournament error, or payment error affected a game or event, Mahjong Time may correct the issue, replay the game, adjust results, restore virtual items, refund an entry item, cancel the event, or take another action Mahjong Time considers fair and reasonable.

10. Fair Play and Prohibited Conduct

Mahjong Time is intended for fair play between real players. The following conduct is prohibited:

• Cheating, collusion, chip dumping, or intentionally manipulating game results.
• Using bots, scripts, macros, automation, unauthorized software, or modified clients.
• Creating or using multiple accounts to gain an unfair advantage.
• Sharing accounts, transferring accounts, or allowing another person to play under your account.
• Exploiting bugs, errors, payment issues, tournament issues, or technical problems.
• Harassing, threatening, abusing, impersonating, or targeting other players.
• Chargeback fraud, payment fraud, stolen payment methods, or false billing information.
• Advertising, spam, solicitation, or promotion of unrelated products or competing services in chat.

Mahjong Time may warn, mute, restrict, suspend, terminate, reverse rewards, void results, remove prizes, or close accounts when these rules are violated.

11. Chat and Community Conduct

Mahjong Time chat is provided for friendly game-related communication. Players may not use chat to harass, threaten, abuse, impersonate, spam, advertise, post offensive content, share private personal information, promote competing services, or disrupt games.

Mahjong Time may moderate, hide, remove, review, restrict, or disable chat access at its discretion, including for lobby chat, rule-set chat, table chat, private table communication, and system messages.

Players should not share passwords, payment information, addresses, phone numbers, or other sensitive personal information in chat.

12. Payments and Refunds

Paid memberships, coins, credits, entries, or other purchases may be processed by third-party payment providers. You agree to provide valid payment information and to pay all charges authorized through your account.

Purchases are generally final unless Mahjong Time approves a refund, a technical billing error occurred, or a refund is required by law. Chargebacks or payment disputes made in bad faith may result in account restriction or termination.

13. Software, Updates, and Availability

Mahjong Time may provide access through a website, browser client, Lite client, downloadable client, mobile experience, or other software. Some versions may require updates to continue working properly.

Mahjong Time may update, change, separate, rename, remove, or discontinue games, apps, clients, features, chat rooms, tournaments, or services at any time.

Mahjong Time does not guarantee that the service will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device, operating system, browser, or network connection.

14. Intellectual Property

Mahjong Time, its software, website content, game interface, graphics, text, logos, designs, tournament systems, and related materials are owned by Mahjong Time or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, distribute, sell, or exploit Mahjong Time software, content, or systems except as allowed by Mahjong Time in writing.

15. Feedback and Submissions

If you send Mahjong Time suggestions, bug reports, ideas, comments, screenshots, or other feedback, you allow Mahjong Time to use that feedback to improve, market, operate, and support the service without compensation to you.

16. Privacy

Mahjong Time collects and uses information as described in its Privacy Policy. By using Mahjong Time, you agree that Mahjong Time may process information needed to operate accounts, games, tournaments, payments, support, fraud prevention, security, and legal compliance.

17. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Mahjong Time services are provided “as is” and “as available.” Mahjong Time does not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from defects.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Mahjong Time is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages related to your use of the service.

Your sole remedy for a Mahjong Time service issue is limited to correction of the issue, restoration of affected virtual items, refund of an applicable entry item, or another remedy selected by Mahjong Time, unless a different remedy is required by law.

18. Account Suspension or Termination

Mahjong Time may suspend, restrict, or terminate an account if the player violates these Terms, violates tournament rules, abuses the service, creates risk for other players, creates legal or payment risk, or uses the service in a way Mahjong Time considers unfair or harmful.

If an account is closed for abuse, cheating, fraud, chargebacks, or other serious violations, Mahjong Time may void tournament results, remove rewards, cancel prizes, reverse virtual items, and block future access.

19. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally must be handled individually and not as a class action. Unless otherwise required by law, legal actions must be brought in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California.
